Heavyweight v Mediumweight
It is a misconception that the 16oz heavyweight is harder wearing medium weight, medium the upholsterers preferred choice is just as hard wearing as the heavyweight, in fact some tests show the medium weight is better, also the heavyweight tartan has a large sett size (repeat) which is not ideal for furniture. However we do supply heavy weight tartan as some customers like the feel and bulk of a heavy weight.
Some of our customers are concerned about how the fabric will wear, we always advise to get advice from the upholsterer and to tell the upholsterer what were and how the fabric will be used.
